Responding to a question about National Conference leader Salman Sagar’s remarks that the protest against the reservation policy was led by enemies of the National Conference, Ruhullah defended his stance.
He led a protest on December 23 in support of rationalizing the reservation policy in Jammu and Kashmir. However, he faced criticism from his party colleague Salman Sagar, who accused him of aligning with opposition parties and labelled them as enemies of the NC.
“The biggest and most important thing that day was the reservation. The students, their reservation, their future. I am not important; no one else is important. No other issue is important,” Ruhullah said.
When asked about the Government’s promise to review the reservation policy within six months, Ruhullah said, “The Government will issue it. You can talk to the Government.”
He also addressed allegations by Altaf Bukhari, who claimed the protests were staged. “Not everything is planted like him. Like Altaf Bukhari, everything is not planted in this world. Altaf Bukhari is planted himself, and he thinks that everything is planted,” he said.
Earlier, Ruhullah had called an important review meeting of Centrally Sponsored Schemes in Srinagar in which all members, except for those MLAs stationed in Jammu, attended the meeting.
