JAMMU, May 9: All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) in a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of D N Kissu discussed the problems of the community.
The Forum said that the maximum families of community are spilt and scattered all over the country and as such they are unable to cast their vote at a single place. It said the voting facilities don’t exist for migrants at various places in the country where they are presently putting up. It alleged that the voting process for the community has been deliberately made complicated.
The meeting said moreover the community has vote for those people who never visit and highlight their problems before or after the elections and hence there is no fun of casting vote in favour of such candidates. The meeting while making a dig at political parties said it is pity that during last three decades they failed to take up the issue of honorable and dignified rehabilitation of displaced Pandits in their homeland in the democratic foras of the country and advocated for the cause of this peace loving community whose contribution to the national cause are enormous.
It said that the voter I D Cards have not been issued till date to the community voters. Besides, the wrong entries in voter lists are yet another deliberate attempt to deprive the community form voting.
Forum demanded that to ensure participation of community in democratic process the Government should at least reserve five seats for it State Assembly in exile and two constituencies in Parliament till its proper rehabilitation.
The meeting also alleged that road blocks have been created in implementation of PM employment package. It demanded Unemployment Allowance for community’s overaged youth and reviewing of package thoroughly.
It also demanded compensation to the community against the movable and immovable property, restoration of land of KPs encroached in Valley and passage of Kashmiri Hindus Religious Places Bill to restore the faith of the community in Government.
Advisor of the Forum Prof G L Raina, its president, P L Sudeshi, general secretary, P N Raina, Women Wing president, Phoola Koul and senior office bearer, CL Zuthsi also addressed the meeting.
