JAMMU, Dec 29: All Jammu Based Reserved Category Employees Association (AJBRCEA), Kashmir continued their protest for 212 days here at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Chowk, Jammu.
The employees raised slogans in support of transfer policy. They urged the Lt. Governor led administration to address their three point genuine demands including formation of a suitable comprehensive transfer policy in a time bound manner by fixing a time period of five years of service, utilization of services of employees in their respective district and not to pressurize the Jammu based employees to resume their duties in the prevailing situation in Kashmir Valley.
It is pertinent to mention here that a peaceful protest is being held by All Jammu Based Reserved Category Employees Association, Kashmir since June 1, the day after the targeted killing of martyr Rajni Bala.
Today the prominent leaders of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA) Bhupinder Singh (president), Akhtar Abbas Naik (senior vice president), Joginder Digra (vice president), Surjit Singh (district president Udhampur) extended support to protestors.
Bhupinder Singh president of JKTA said that the demands of protesting employees are genuine which will decide the future of their generation. Further he added that they have not demanded since 16 years , if they are demanding now then they have every right to save their lives. He said that the Government should show a big heart and accept their demands.
Joginder Digra (vice president), JKTA also said that the clause of transfer policy should be implemented with the inter-district recruitment policy.
Jammu Kashmir Teacher Association, appealed to the Lt. Governor to take a cognizance of the salary related issues of the Jammu based employees and an order regarding the release of withheld salary of employees may be issued at the earliest.
