It is never late to mend and the time is no barrier in paying what is due. Compensation claims for losses of men and material in disastrous days of 1947, 65 and 1971 wars are still not finalised. The delay obviously is due to lackadaisical and unsympathetic attitude both on the part of State and Central Govts. wearer alone knows where the shoe pinches bullet scars and wounds the refugees suffered especially in 1947 are still heart- breaking.
Six and half decades period is not insufficient to seek solution of the problem these refugees are confronted with. But lack of sincerity of purpose on the part of the preceeding Govts, the problems of these people remained unsolved till date. Since safety and security of citizens falls on the shoulders of the Govt. Payment of such claims/compensation also devolves on it. In the circumstances, the State Govt. should project the case strongly and effectively to the Central Govt for one time settlement of their claims so that these unfortunate and distresed people are not made to suffer any longer.
