Reshuffle futile exercise to regain lost ground: Bhalla

JAMMU, Apr 30: Former minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla claimed that today’s reshuffle in Cabinet is BJP’s futile exercise to regain lost ground in Jammu region.
Addressing a public gathering at Trikuta Nagar Extension in Gandhi Nagar constituency today Bhalla while reacting over reshuffle in Cabinet today, said that changing faces of Ministers neither help BJP nor people of Jammu region as to serve people needs will power which is lacking in BJP since day one after joining hands with PDP sacrificing its core ideology to remain in power.
While highlighting the glaring development and governance deficit in the State, Bhalla said there was no sign of governance in the State. The BJP is facing growing opposition in Jammu province. The party, which won 25 of Jammu’s 37 seats in 2014 by promising to further the interests of the province, is being accused of giving up on everything it stood for. Bhalla said that the people of Jammu are not satisfied.
“Delivery of Ministers from Jammu is not satisfactory. The Jammu region has major grievances that they expected the party would address when in power. Most of the projects are still in the pipeline. There are investments in these but there is no remarkable progress as such. And most of the progress that is being reported is from centrally-funded projects.” Bhalla said and added that BJP has failed to deliver because it is locked in a constant struggle to keep the Government going.
“If the BJP tries to satisfy people by adhering to their agenda, the PDP is upset. And of the PDP tries to adhere to their agenda, BJP is upset,” he said, adding that the alliance is on tenterhooks, on a double-edged sword.
While flaying the BJP’s policy of deceit, duplicity and double standards, Bhalla cautioned the people not to get trapped again by the rhetoric and tall pronouncements of the party and exhorted them to support and strengthen Congress which alone had the capacity and audacity to raise the voice of the people of Jammu region besides combating the anti-national elements.
