JAMMU, July 31: The residents of far flung area of tehsil Dachhan in District Kishtwar have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to sanction special package for the all round development of Dachhan.
Addressing a press conference here today, the residents expressed grief over the loss of precious lives and property of their brethren due to havoc caused by cloudburst in village Honzer of Dachhan in District Kishtwar.
“Our area has been ignored by the successive Governments and we are living a pathetic life”, they said, adding that there are nine panchayats in Dachhan and there is no development in these panchayat.
Around 25,000 people are living in tehsil Dachhan and there are no proper health facilities in our areas, they said, adding that a special package can redress out seven decades long issues.
They demanded completion of Dangdhoru-Dachhan road under PMGSY scheme, enhancement in ex gratia relief to Rs 10 lakh, appointment and adjustment of kins of cloudburst victims into the power projects, construction of damaged houses under PM Awas Yojna, upgradation of Primary Health Centre Dachhan as Sub District Hospital, establishments of Primary Health Centre in Sounder, opening of Degree College and ITI institute at Dachhan, assigning of powers of Sub Divisional Magistrate to Tehsildar Dachhan, electrification of whole Dachhan, development of Dachhan as a tourist destination, opening of handicraft and hunnar centres and proper BSNL services in the area.
They have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to address all these issues and sanction a special package for the development of their area.
