Residents up in arms against shortage of drinking water, PHE Deptt

DODA, Sept 28: The irate residents of Gandoh area of the district are up in arms against shortage of drinking water supply viz Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department
The residents said that after heavy rainfall in the recent pass, the water supply to their Gandoh area got snapped.
“There is no water supply in our area for the past around one week. We are facing problems to carry out our chores”, a Saima Begum, a woman hailing from Gandoh said.
Ashraf Ahmed, a local said that for the past 6 days there is no water supply in their area and it has became difficult for them to carry out day-to-day works.
“Women along with their children are bringing drinking water from natural resources on foot from around 1 kilometer, but the PHE Department is not taking any initiative to supply regular water in out area”, he said and warned to come on roads if the PHE Department failed to supply regular drinking water in their area within shortest span of time.
The residents also appealed to the Governor to look into the matter and gave directions to PHE Department to resolve the drinking water scarcity issue permanently.
