KATHUA, Feb 1: The residents of Hiranagar border area danced to the tune of drum beating as their long pending demand of road construction was fulfilled after 40 long years.
The DDC, Karan Kumar Attri accompanied by Sarpanch and border residents kick started the construction of 14 km border road from Border Post, Paharpur to Bobiya with an estimated cost of Rs 42 crore under PMGSY. The widening of border road begins after the formal inauguration of construction work in the presence of a large number of border residents.
The border residents started dancing to the tune of drum beating in happiness as the construction of road was started. The DDC, Karan Kumar said that it was a long pending demand of border residents and they were facing a lot of problem due to worst condition of road for last 40 years.
He added that the PMGSY road double lanned including the culvert, protection wall and bridge to connect the 22 villages of the border area. He said that it is possible due to vision of Minister in PMO, Dr Jatinder Singh, LG Manoj Sinha and PM Modi. The road will benefit the border residents as well as it will be an attraction for tourists to watch the Zero Line areas.
