SRINAGAR, Mar 4: Residents of more than a dozen localities in downtown Srinagar have appealed Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who is also the power Minister to issue immediate orders for the commissioning of additional transformer so that they are relieved of the power crisis.
Residents of Safa Kadal, Gasi Mohalla, Noor Bagh, Braripora, Seki Daffar, Zadi Masjid, Bhagwanpora, Shaheen Mohalla, Suttwatt, Wanganpora, Mirjanpora, Tanghbagh, Narwara, Yashpora and Dangarpora in a written representation have said that they have to face regular power cuts in the evening thus leading to power woes for them.
Residents said two months back the Power Development Department (PDD) authorities dumped a transformer of 6.3 MVA capacity that was to be commissioned in order to ease load on existing two 10 MVA transformers. They demanded that the transformer should be commissioned at the earliest so that there is no more power trouble in the areas.
