KATHUA, Jan 28: The residents of Shiva Nagar held protest against Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department for their failure to supply regular drinking water.
A large number of residents of Shiva Nagar assembled infront of DC Office here and raised slogans against PHE authorities for their failure to supply drinking water in their area on regular basis.
The protestors alleged that due to strike by PHE Department employees the water supply in their area has been hampered. They alleged that PHE authorities are deliberately ignoring their area as a result the people residing in Shiva Nagar are suffering since long on account of shortage of drinking water.
Due to protest, the vehicular movement on College Road got stranded.
After getting information, officials from the District Administration rushed to the spot and assured the protestors of taking up the issue with the concerned authorities for redressal.
On the assurance that water will be supplied in their area on regular basis, the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored.
