BHADERWAH, June 24: The residents of Himote area staged protest over shortage of drinking water.
The residents claimed that despite complaining to the Jal Shakti Department multiple times, their problem has not been solved.
Carrying empty utensils, the protesting people raised slogans against the Jal Shakti Department.
While speaking, one of the protestors said, “From the past one month there is no water in our area. We have complained to Jal Shakti Department multiple times but nothing has been done till today, which forced us to hold protest”.
“On one hand we are facing COVID-19 crisis and on the other hand we are not even getting water supply”, he said and requested Jal Shakti authorities and Government to solve this issue.
He demanded that Jal Shakti Department authorities should come to our area and assure us of providing regular water supply.
With a warning to intensify their protest, the residents dispersed.
