DODA, Dec 14: The residents of far flung area Sheyaal of Tehsil Gundana are up in arms against Power Development Department (PDD).
A large number of residents assembled at Sheyaal and raised slogans against PDD. They alleged that the PDD has failed to restore the power supply in their area despite lapse of around one month.
The residents said that the transformer installed in their vicinity got damaged around one month back and PDD has failed to replace or repair it, thereby creating problems for the people in the ongoing chilly weather conditions.
They further alleged that PDD officials always install low quality transformer in their area, which get non-functional after several weeks.
“We pay power tariff on regular basis, but are not getting electricity. PDD should take immediate steps to restore power supply, otherwise we will stop paying electricity dues”, they added.
The residents demanded installation of high quality transformer so as to resume the electricity supply.
“If PDD failed to restore the power supply in our area within shortest possible time by installing a high grade transformer, then we will come on road and will protest in aggressive manner and for any untoward incident, the District Administration and PDD will be responsible.
The residents also appealed to DC Doda to look into the issue and redress it on priority.
