Resolve genuine problems of Kashmiri Pandits: PDP

JAMMU, Sept 28: Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Migrant Wing held a meeting at party office Gandhi Nagar here under the chairmanship of its president, Sunil Bhat and State secretary R.K.Pardesi.
The meeting expressed grave concern over the stoic silence maintained by the Government on the genuine basic problems being faced by the Kashmiri migrants especially the recent move in stopping the monthly supply of flour to them.
Addressing the meeting, Sunil Bhat said that the SRO 43 should also be implemented on PM package employees. He demanded that the old policy of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s period be implemented and at least two room sets which were constructed at Vassu and Sheikhpura be constructed for PM package employees and one room tenement concept be abandoned.
Bhat demanded creation of one thousand posts in Central Government Departments in J&K for migrants. He demanded Jobs for educated unemployment youth of community.
R.K.Pardesi demanded enhancement of Relief from Rs. 13000/ to Rs 20000/ per month, formation of concrete rehabilitation Policy for Kashmiri Pandits in Valley with time bound duration, internal repairs and renovation of Quarters at Jagti, TRT Nagrota, Buta Nagar and Purkhoo, subsidized loan schemes for over aged unemployed youth of the community, regular supply of pure drinking water in all migrant camps etc. He appealed Lt. Governor to address the genuine problems of migrants on priority basis.
Bhat also appealed Relief Commissioner, Migrant J&K to come forward and discharge his role in facilitating and getting resolved the problems of the migrants on war footing. The others who spoke in the meeting were Veer Ji Raina, Bansi Lal Koul, Satish Pajnoo, Pran Nath Pandita, S.K. Bhat, Vijay Pandita, Suraj Tak, Amit Dhar and Sanjay Kumar Jala.
