Resolve issues of Kishanganga affected families: Gurezi

SRINAGAR, June 18: Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi convened a meeting here today to discuss the issue of relief and rehabilitation of families affected by the Kishanganga Hydro Electric Power Project (KGHEP) in Gurez.
He asked the officers to resolve the issues of Project Affected Families at an earliest. He directed the administration to take all requisite measures for early rehabilitation of the families affected due to the project.
The Chief Secretary, B R Sharma directed the district administration Bandipora to come up with detailed proposals about the issues of the affected people. He assured the Joint Committee members present in the meeting that their genuine demands will be looked into.
District Development Commissioner, Bandipora Sajad Hussain, Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Nissar Ahmad Wani, Secretary Technical PDD, Asgar Ali Majaz, Deputy Secretary PDD, SDM Gurez, Tehsildar Gurez, representatives of KGHEP Project Affected Families (PAF) including Munir Samoon were present in the meeting.
