Resolve LOC issue

Sir,
This has  reference to the unprovoked shelling by the Pakistan army targeting forward posts and civilian areas in Balakote sector on 21st of March.
The pattern of firing on LOC on locals indicates the future polices of both the nations and which might be not in favour of thousands of lives living near the 786 km LOC.
People living in border villages are often caught in the direct line of fire during such incidents. The border areas are also strewn with landmines that can cause death or severe injury. Destruction of homes and properties is a serious issue. Other than death and destruction, individuals living in border areas may be displaced.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti responded to the shelling on 18 March using social media (Twitter), which is an inadequate reaction to such a sensitive issue. What we need is a shift in policy, not sympathy by electronic media.
The issues of people living near the LOC can be resolved by focusing on  opening up new routes of cross-border movement, supporting divided families. Organising social events would help  to increase interaction between our two nations.  The people of LOC need genuine talk on the situation.
Yours etc…
Aman Khajuria
