Restoration of statehood to J&K: Dimple’s hunger strike on Feb 18

JAMMU, Feb 12: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) activists here today staged a protest demonstration demanding restoration of statehood to J&K with special status.
The protest was led by JWAM president, Sunil Dimple who said that he will start hunger strike on February 18 for the demand of restoration of statehood to J&K and early assembly elections.
He expressed resentment against new industrial policy, new land laws and domicile certificate rule.
The JWAM leader expressed resentment that PM Narendra Modi uttered no word on the floor of the Parliament in the ongoing Budget session for the restoration of the Statehood to J&K.
He said that PM Modi should introduce a Bill in the Parliament for restoration of statehood to J&K and hailed LG Manoj Sinha’s statement regarding investors to visit J&K for investment.
Dimple demanded that the land to the investors should only be allotted on lease base and there should be 100 per cent job reservation in J&K industries for the local youths.
Prominent traders present in the protest were Swarn Lal, S. Kala Singh, Papu Virdi, Mohinder Lichi, Arun Verma, Lohri Shaha, Sham Lal Sharma and others.
