JAMMU, Jan 28: Apni Party senior vice president Ghulam Hassan Mir has demanded restoration of democratic institutions in J&K.
“There is growing feeling of alienation among the people in absence of an elected Government,” Mir said and demanded the Government to restore democratic institutions in J&K. He was addressing a joining programme in Apni Party Office at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu which was organized by Ex-Servicemen Wing, provincial president, Kulwant Singh.
While speaking at the meeting, he said that the people are coming in support of the Apni Party from every part of J&K. “Our demand for restoration of democratic institutions is gathering support from the ground as people feel disempowered with the present form of Government and hence, they seek elections for assembly constituencies,” he added.
He said that the Apni Party believes in the revival of democracy for which people are with the Party. “The people from far flung areas of J&K are joining the Party because of our developmental agenda and opposition to the divisive agenda,” he said.
“We believe that the unemployed should get employment and the two regions should be treated equally with regard to development, funds distribution and employment,” he said in his address while welcoming the people who joined the Apni Party.
Prominent among those who joined Apni Party include Madan Lal, Pradeep Kumar, Hardev Kumar, Jagtar Chib, Ajit Singh Chib, Shamsher Singh, Deep Kumar, Raj Kumar, Bachan Singh, Amar Chand, Bua Ditta, Mohinder, Surjit Kumar, Tilak Raj, Bhan Singh, Balwant Singh, Bishan Das, Mohan Lal, Balwant Singh, Rattan Lal, Sonit Gupta, Abhinandan Khajuria, Keshav Singh Chib, Vanshit Singh Chib, Najal Singh Salathia, Balbir Singh, Jaswant Singh Chib, Vijay Kumar, Jagtar Nath, Roop Chand, Makhan Lal, Uttam Chand and others.
Provincial president, Jammu, Manjit Singh, Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, District president Rural, Pushp Dev Uppal, Provincial secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta, Provincial organizing secretary, Shanker Singh Chib and other party functionaries were present on the occasion.
