Restore exam centers at Devak, Qila Darhal, Androoth: Ex-MLC

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Feb 15:  Former MLC and chief spokesperson of JKPCC Ravinder Sharma has urged the authorities of J&K Board of School Education to continue the examination  centres of 10th 12th class at Higher Secondary School Devak, Qila Darhal and Androoth in  Rajouri district.
The Congress leader has also demanded shifting of the School Board branch from dilapidated building to new building and additional Branch of Board at Nowshera and Kalakote.
In a communication to the Board of School Education, Sharma said that  there is a genuine grievance of students of Higher Secondary School Devak in Lower Hathal Zone Sunderbani and Higher Secondary School Qilla Darhal and Higher Secondary School Androoth regarding the cancellation of examination centers of 10th and 12th class this year. Both these schools are located far away from the Headquarters and the road connectivity and the transport facilities are not proper.
Former MLC  requested  the authorities to consider the continuation of examination centers at Higher Secondary School Devak and Higher Secondary School Qilla Darhal (HSS Qilla Darhal and HSS Androoth).
Sharma further said that he personally visited the Branch office   Sunderbani which is presently in a very dilapidated building at Primary School Kathanu, where the important record is unsafe. This branch office should be shifted to some suitable alternate place.
He also said that there was a move to open the Board branch at Nowshera for which a site was also selected on my initiative. However thereafter no initiative was taken and the matter is still pending.
Besides Nowshera,  there is also urgent need  for Branch at Kalakote in view of the need of students and teachers in  this far flung area. He urged upon the authorities to initiate immediate action in this regard, in the larger interest of students.
