JAMMU, July 25: Stressing the LG Administration to restore pension of old age persons, widows and physically disabled persons, Provincial president of SC Cell of J&K National Conference, Vijay Lochan today said that only NC can fulfill the aspirations of all sections of society.
Addressing a party meeting in Marh area today, Lochan said that the Prime Minister had promised to generate two crore jobs annually, however, this assurance remains unfulfilled. Instead, the government’s decision to privatise various sectors has led to job losses, exacerbating the issue of unemployment and contributing to unrest among the youth.
The senior NC leader expressed deep concern over the consequences of unemployment, stating that frustrated youths have been inclined towards drug abuse, posing a significant danger to their lives and impacting the well-being of their families. He emphasized that tackling unemployment is crucial in preventing such adverse social outcomes.
He raised serious concern over the stoppage of pension of the elderly, disabled persons and widows by the Social Welfare Department. The locals apprised the NC leader about their difficulties faced by these vulnerable groups in obtaining necessary documents like PHH ration cards, age certificates, domicile proofs, and non-re-marriage certificates for widows, leading to mental and physical distress.
The NC leader urged the LG Administration to revoke order No. 156 issued in September 2022 and release the pensions of old age, widows, and disabled persons promptly. He also appealed to the people of Marh constituency to support the National Conference in upcoming elections.
Senior members Ram Lal Lakhotra, Master Baldev Raj, Jagga Ram, Des Raj Sangral, Ramesh Kumar, Karan Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Krishan Lal, Sham Lal Langeh and Janak Raj accompanied the NC leader.
