JAMMU, Oct 15: J&K Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) president, Uday Bhanu Chib has urged the Government to go for elections to the J&K Assembly only after restoration of statehood to this Union Territory.
He stated this while raising serious concern over the problems being faced by the common masses in absence of duly elected popular Government in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting in Raipur- Domana Constituency here today, the JKPYC president questioned the Government on the intention of completing the delimitation process in a time bound manner.
Castigating the Government for unnecessary delay in this direction, Uday asserted that the people’s miseries have increased manifold and they have no option but to bear the brunt due to the absence of representative Government in place.
PYC chief urged the Union Government to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir before moving in the direction of holding elections in this Union Territory. He accused the BJP’s Government at the Centre of being wholly and solely responsible for the miseries of the common people. He said that the Modi Govt has been pursuing the agenda of anti-people policies as a result of which the Government has proved to be a total failure on all fronts.
Chib said that it is high time for the people to teach the Bharatiya Janata Party a lesson for having made hollow promises and doing nothing on ground except making tall claims. He appealed to the people to strengthen the Congress party asserting that it is the only party committed to the equitable as well as overall development of Jammu as well as Kashmir regions.
