KISHTWAR, Oct 16: BJP held a meeting at Dachan today in which grave concern was expressed over stopping of the work on Dachan -Marwah road by the contractor which was got sanctioned by the former Minister and then local MLA, Sunil Kumar Sharma.
Addressing the meeting BJP vice president of the district Kishtwar, Ravi Kumar Thakur said that the work on the road has been deliberately stopped by the contractor to discredit the BJP and the former Minister who took personal interest after seven decades of the independence to get the area connected with a road with rest of the district on the demand of locals.
He alleged successive NC and Congress Governments ignored this area for their vested political interests.
Thakur demanded that the work on the road be resumed immediately failing which his party will launch protest. He also demanded construction of 33/11KV Receiving Station at Dachan which has been sanctioned two years back under R&R plan. He made an appeal to STD Division, Doda to start the work on the Receiving Station to improve the power supply in the area.
He said the work on erection of poles and installation of transformer is also slow in Dachan and people are facing hardships due to low voltage and power cuts.
Ravi Thakur criticized the National Conference (NC) and other political parties for Gupkar Alliance and said Article 370 can’t be restored as it strengthened secessionist forces in J&K. He also criticized the local NC leader, Piaray Lal for demanding restoration of Article 370 and termed it a misleading statement.
