JAMMU, Aug 10: Situation in five districts of Jammu region today completely returned to normal while in five other districts, restrictions were relaxed for few hours in phased manner and there was no report of any untoward incident during the relaxation.
Restrictions have completely been withdrawn from Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur and Reasi districts, where all educational institutions functioned today. Government offices were also open and traffic plied normally.
However, in five sensitive districts of Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban, restrictions were relaxed in phased manner in different areas to help people buy essential commodities. Educational institutions in these five districts remained closed.
Official reports said relaxation period in all five districts passed off peacefully with people turning out in large numbers to purchase essential commodities.
Mobile internet services remained snapped in entire Jammu region for sixth consecutive day today. In five sensitive districts, telephone calling services have also been affected.
Restrictions were relaxed in a phased manner in different parts of the Kishtwar town uptill 7 pm.
“The restrictions were first relaxed area-wise from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm to 5 pm and were extended till 2 pm and 7 pm,” sources said.
They said the restrictions were relaxed in Bhaderwah town and it’s adjoining areas in Doda district in a phased manner.
In Rajouri and Poonch, restrictions were relaxed area wise.
In Doda and Ramban districts also, area was relaxation was given in the districts, sources said.
