Srinagar, Jan 11: Authorities today imposed strict restrictions in South Kashmir’s Pulwama Township and foiled the march of locals to ‘Shaheed Park’ for installing militant insignia.
Hundreds of police personnel in riot gear were deployed across the Pulwama Town since early morning who enforced the restrictions strictly. The police had also erected barbed wires and mobile bunkers on road junctions to foil protest march.
Due to restrictions, the Town wore a deserted look while there was no attempt by locals either to march towards the ‘Shaheed Park’. The adjoining areas of the Pulwama meanwhile observed a shutdown for the 13th consecutive day over the demand of installing militant insignia.
