JAMMU, July 26: Government of Jammu and Kashmir today once again ordered restructuring of the Public Works (R&B) Department, which was deferred earlier.
According to an order in this regard, the restructuring of Public Works (R&B) Department by way of re-organization of cadre and rationalization of jurisdictions shall be implemented immediately after August 15, 2023.
A committee, headed by Principal Secretary PW(R&B) Department, shall ensure smooth transition while ensuring optimal pace of ongoing works in the PW(R&B) Department. Commissioner Secretary GAD; Commissioner Secy RDD, Administrative Secretary Tourism and Director General Codes are members of the committee.
The restructuring of Public Works (R&B) Department by way of re-organisation of cadre and rationalization of jurisdiction(s) was earlier ordered by the J&K Government on January 6, 2023. However, on April 5, Government deferred its decision of the re-organization/restructuring of Public Works (R&B) Department till further orders.
