JAMMU, Jan 11: President of ReT Forum Vinod Sharma and Chief Coordinator Sukhdev Singh Sumbria today alleged that due to the lethargic attitude of the IGNOU authorities of J&K UT, thousands of teachers who are pursuing their BEd, are suffering badly.
They said that due to mismanagement on the part of IGNOU authorities, Examination Centres were fixed only at District Headquarters and the teachers from the far flung areas had to travel long distance to reach the centres and even they had to hire rooms to stay. They also alleged that in District Reasi, no center was established and teachers had to travel hundreds of kilometers to reach Jammu. Last year too, teachers from other districts were harassed by establishing their centres at Mahore, they added.
“More astonishing is the fact that IGNOU Jammu has ignored all rules of the university as this year Date Sheet of BEd was uploaded three days before the examination and Hall tickets were uploaded just two days prior to the examination, which shows the harassing attitude of the IGNOU authorities,” the ReT Forum leaders said.
Further alleging that due to the harassing attitude of the Jammu IGNOU, two papers have been cancelled and thousands of teachers were made to suffer, they warned that the ReT Forum would not tolerate such harassment and soon come on road.
They appealed the Union Home Minister, HRD Minister and Lieutenant Governor J&K to personally intervene in this matter and shift all the staff from Regional Center Jammu to outside the UT who made thousands of teachers to suffer.
