ReT Forum highlights demands

UDHAMPUR, Jan 5: Monthly meeting of J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of J&K UT President Vinod Sharma, Chief Coordinator Sukhdev Singh Sumbria and District President Lekh Raj Parihar.
Vinod Sharma, while highlighting the issue of the cadre, said that many left out graduates and undergraduate teachers who have acquired qualification from outside the State recognized universities, have not been converted to Teachers Grade II / Teachers Grade III due to which their salaries are pending since March 2019 onwards. He also said that recently regularised ReTs are also without salary since March 2019 as many of them haven’t been converted to Teachers Grade II /Grade III and these teachers and their families are on the verge of starvation as they are unable to provide basic necessities of life to their family members. He urged the Director School Education Jammu to fix the meeting of Divisional Level Committee this week so that all the left out teachers can be converted to Teachers Grade II/ Teachers Grade III including recently regularised ReTs.
Vinod Sharma further said that due to casual approach of Director School Education Kashmir towards teachers, there is a huge pendency of Teachers Grade II and Teachers Grade III due to which teachers are suffering badly. He urged the Commissioner Secretary School Education to intervene in this regard so that grievances of teachers of Kashmir division be resolved.
Sukhdev Singh Sumbria demanded the regularization of left out ReTs of the U T at the earliest so that they be converted to Teachers Grade II/ III. He also demanded the comprehensive transfer policy for all the regularised RETs as they have been working in the same schools for last more than 15 years.
Lekh Raj Parihar appealed the Director School Education Jammu to release the Mid Day Meals dues for the year 2019 which the teachers have managed from their own pockets for the whole year.
Others who also spoke on the occasion, included Sukesh Khajuria, Ashok Seth, Pritam Goswami, Bhushan Khajuria, Shamsher Singh, Ajay Thakur, Sahil Sambyal, Rekha Thakur, Pankaj Thakur, Jagadish Chander Sharma, Puma Chand, Rakesh Singh, Sham Singh, Vipin Sharma, Sudesh Azad, Ranjit Singh, Jeevan Singh, Roshan Lal, Jatinder Singh, Parshant Sharma and Sudesh Balwal.
