UDHAMPUR, Nov 4: ReT Teachers’ Forum today urged the Government to release the salary of all ReT teachers as per 7th Pay Commission (PC) before Diwali.
While chairing the monthly meeting of the Forum that was held under the leadership of district president, Lekh Raj Parihar and was attended by the delegates of the Forum from all the eleven zones of the district, State president, Vinod Sharma, said that 41000 teachers and masters of the State have been waiting anxiously for the salary as per 7th Pay Commission as assured/announced by the Governor’s administration during the meeting with the TJAC (Teachers Joint Action Committee) leadership at Srinagar on September 26.
“Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, himself visited the venue of hunger strike at Srinagar and made announcement on behalf of the Governor, but more than month’s period has expired and only salary for July has been released by the department which is unfortunate as they were expecting salary of September with 7th Pay Commission as per the commitment of the Government”, he said.
He appealed the Governor’s administration to fulfill their commitment and release the pending salary for last 3 months as per 7th PC before Diwali for the welfare of 41000 teachers and masters of the State who are living in mental trauma as they are unable to provide basic necessities of life to their family members.
Sharma hoped that the committee constituted for the resolution of delinking of SSA salary from MHRD to State budget will submit positive report on 10th of November and permanent solution will be found and teachers would not be forced to again resort to extreme steps.
