JAMMU, May 12: The one-day token strike cum dharna of All J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum in view of their long pending demands particularly regularization of ReT teachers who had completed five years of service, which was scheduled to be held on May 14, 2012, was today called off by the Forum.
Talking to the reporters, State President of the Forum, Vinod Sharma proclaimed that the Forum has decided to call off its strike cum dharna of May 14, 2012 as the Director School Education Jammu had issued the regularization orders of 168 ReT teachers who had completed their five years service period since February 2011 onwards.
He requested the Director School Education, Jammu to issue the regularization orders of remaining ReT’s who had also completed five years of service period, within a week, so that they might not suffer any more.
Meanwhile Sharma also highlighted other demands of the Forum including regularization of EVs who have completed seven years of service since March 2010 onwards, as general line teachers, old pension scheme for ReTs appointed before January 1, 2010 by implementing Government Order No. 115 dated February 20, 2008, inclusion of five years rendered period of ReTs for seniority benefits, transfer policy for regularized ReT teachers, provision for SRO 43 for ReTs and EVs, and issuance of order regarding enhancement in the wages of ReTs as announced during Assembly session.
He appealed the Government to concede their genuine demands at an earliest for the welfare of the thousands of ReTs and not to force them to choose the path of agitation.
