ReT teachers to protest for release of salary under SSA

JAMMU, Dec 28:Up in arms  against unprecedented delay in release of salaries of regularized ReT teachers under SSA, All J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum has announced to hold a massive protest demonstration on January 3 near  Press Club Jammu.
Decision in this regard was taken today during monthly meeting of the Forum, held here today under the presidium  of State president Vinod Sharma, State vice president Younis Rahi and provincial president Rajesh Singh Jamwal. The meeting was attended by all the District presidents besides State apex body members of the Forum.
While speaking on the occasion,  Vinod Sharma expressed  strong resentment against the Government  for making them suffer for want of release of several months’ SSA salary. He said that they had projected the matter before the Government  many times but nothing was done to streamline the SSA salary.  Regularized ReT Teachers under SSA are without salary for last 3 to 9 months in all the districts  of the State and are on the verge of starvation, he added.
Provincial president Rajesh Jamwal said that they were  left with no option other than to come on roads as the SSA salary is pending for several months. The State Finance Department  has only released 50 percent of the funds sanctioned  by Central Government  under Centre share which is a matter of concern, he explained.
Those who attended the meeting, included  Lekh Raj Parihar, Sukhdev Singh, Sukesh Khajuria, Gulzar, Subash Chander,  Kewal Kumar, Jyoti Parkash, Ravinder Singh, Joginder Kumar, Manzoor Malik, Rajinder Singh, Ravi Kumar, Chander Kant, Vijay Kumar, Sohan Kumar, Parshotam Kumar, Dilip Kumar  and others.
Similar monthly meetings were also held at Kathua and other places for highlighting the grievances of ReTs.
