It has reference to the news item “ReT teachers resign for non-teaching assignments”. First of all I want to pat the back of these noble teachers who took such a bold step. Its a big problem in Education Department that many teachers are interested in non- teaching activities like duty as a BLO, MDM, Census duty, election duty, attachments in other departments and many more and less interested in educating the pupils. That’s why students of Govt. schools are suffering the most. As a consequences of this, results of Govt. schools are below the desired level and one of the reasons why strength in govt. schools is falling day by day. Higher authorities of the department like directors, CEOs, ZEOs etc. should take necessary steps to check such type of brain drain. Teaching is a noble profession and a teacher is born to teach. He is selected and made for teaching. So he should only teach for the betterment of students in particular and society in general, because teacher is the mirror of nation.
