ReT teachers to go on indefinite hunger strike from Dec 27

JAMMU, Nov 26: All J&K ReT Teacher Forum would hold State level protest demonstration at Jammu on December 26 and start indefinite hunger strike from December 27 in support of their long pending demands, if the same were not met before December 20.
This was stated by provincial president Rajesh Singh Jamwal in a meeting in which large number of ReT and EVs representatives from the entire district participated. He added that advisor to Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana had promised them at Srinagar to concede their genuine demands within ten days but nothing has been done to resolve their genuine demands.
The demands included immediate regularization of all Education Volunteers (EVs) as general line teachers who have completed their seven years in the department since March 2010 onwards, inclusion of five years ReT period and seven years EVs period for seniority benefits, old pension scheme in favour of ReTs appointed before January 1, 2010, transfer policy in favour of ReT teachers, provision of SRO-43 in their favour and enhancement in the honorarium of ReTs from rupees 1500 per month to Rs 3000 per month as announced in the Assembly session this year.
He said that the delaying tactics of the Government have forced them to take agitational path.
While speaking Younis Rahi appealed all the ReTs and EVs to participate in the said protest and hunger strike in large numbers.
