JAMMU, May 22: A retired Army captain died when a motorcycle hit him near his residence in Sohal area of tehsil Akhnoor.
As per police sources, a retired Army captain namely Kali Dass, son of Mani Ram of Sohal, tehsil Akhnoor, was seriously injured after being hit by a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AR-0961 near Sohal in tehsil Akhnoor.
The profusely bleeding man was rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Akhnoor from where he was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries late last night.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Akhnoor police station and investigation started.
