RAJOURI, May 17: A retired Police Inspector was killed in road accident in Rajouri late last night.
Reports said that Inspector J&K Police (Retd) Dev Raj, resident of Ward No. 11 of Rajouri town, who was seriously injured in car accident near MES Gate at Rajouri town last evening, was referred to GMC Hospital from DH Rajouri last night. He succumbed to injuries near Sunderbani last mid night. One Jonginder Lal, tea stall owner was killed on the spot and seven others were injured in this mishap.
The dead body of the deceased inspector was handed over to the family after postmortem at Rajouri hospital. The police has seized the car and arrested its driver, who also sustained minor injuries in the accident.
