JAMMU, Aug 5: Retired Non-Gazetted Police personnel today held protest, projecting their long pending issues at Maharaja Hari Singh Park near Tawi river here today.
The retired policemen under the banner of Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum led by its Chairman Ajit Singh assembled at Hari Singh Park and launched protest. They raised loud slogans, projecting their issues during the protest.
They demanded medical facilities for the J&K Police personnel on the pattern of Central Para Military Forces as the JKUT Police is now directly under Union Home Ministry. They further demanded removal of anomaly in the pay grades of Non-Gazetted police personnel.
Ajit Singh demanded 10 % reservation for admission in professional colleges and in recruitment for the children of policemen. He also demanded implementation of order of the Govt of Gujarat and Punjab and Haryana High Court for recovery of commuted pension in the matter of stopping the recovery of commuted pension after 12 years instead of 15 years.
Clearance of the pension papers/NOC etc should be time bound so that retirees and their families should not suffer. SPOs should be paid on time. There has been long delay in the release of their salaries.
After staging protest demonstration at Maharaja Hari Singh Park for sometime, they dispersed.
