Retd police personnel highlight demands

JAMMU, Feb 26: A meeting of retired police personnel was held under the chairmanship of Surjeet Singh, retd inspector and district president, Retd Police Welfare League and discussed various issues being faced by them.
During the meeting, the participants demanded treatment of retired police personnel, who have crossed the age of 70 years in the zonal police hospitals as they don’t get proper treatment from local market. The treatment in Zonal Police Hospitals will reduce their financial hardships, they added.
They also requested the higher authorities to direct all districts SSPs to provide ambulance from DPL to ailing and needy ex-police personnel besides medicine purchased locally should also be reimbursed to mitigate financial burden on them.
“Ex-police personnel should be provided medicines from the dispensary meant for police personnel in DPL, free police band when required during marriages and bus for conveyance of barat”, they demanded.
