RAJOURI, Aug 16: Ex-Policemen Welfare League projected the burning issues of the retired policemen and their families.
In a meeting of the League held here today, under the chairmanship of Harmesh Sharma ( Retd DySP), the members discussed the main issues of the retired police men. They raised the issue of enhancement of deduction of welfare fund for retirees, ex-gratia relief in the event of death of retired police personnel, constitution of Ex-Policemen Welfare Board, providing reservation to the wards of Policemen in educational and other professional institutions besides recruitment in police etc.
They also condemned the role of previous Government which had nullified the Govt order No 458/P of 1999 by issuing another order No. 428/2001 there by adopting partisan attitude towards the League. They also appealed to the new DGP to call a Sammelan of ex-policemen of the State and listen to their issues.
