Retd Prisons employees demand DA installment

JAMMU, Oct 16: J&K Prisons Retired Employees Welfare Association has urged upon the Government to release 10% DA installment from July 2013 in respect of State employees and pensioners.
In a press statement issued here today, Krishan Singh, president of the Association urged upon the Government to release funds for the pensionsers suffering for want of 10 % DA installment. He pointed out that pensioners and employees are facing onslaught of sky rocketing prices of all essential items of daily consumption.
Mr Singh said the Government should release funds to the J&K Bank so that the pensioners are able to get 3rd installment of the 6th Pay Commission arrears which became due from April 1, 2013. Moreover, order for payment of 6 % DA arrears for the period from January to June 2009 may also be issued without any delay.
He further sought orders for raising pension by 20, 30, 40, 50 & 100 per cent after 80, 85,90,95 and 100 years of age on Central pattern and enhancement of monthly Medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 soon in view of exhorbitantly rising medicare expenses day by day.
