JAMMU, Nov 25: A retired cop of J&K Police today died under mysterious circumstances in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the deceased was identified as Chand Ji Thussu (53), son of Sham Lal Thussu, resident of Pounichak. He said that the deceased was a retired (voluntarily) Head Constable of J&K Armed Police.
The official said that the body of the deceased was found this evening from a room of his residence which was locked from inside. He said that the body was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem.
“Prima facie it appears to be a case of cardiac arrest, however, exact reason of the death could be known only after postmortem”, he said, adding, in this connection inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated by Pounichak police.
