Retired cop’s son held with drugs, cash

RAJOURI, May 3: District Police Rajouri has arrested a retired cop’s notorious son who was involved in selling the narcotics among the youth besides luring them in this illegal trade thereby posing a big threat to the society.
The arrest was made by the police during raid in presence of Executive Magistrate. In an official statement, District Police Rajouri said that a young man living near DIET complex in Kheora was luring youth in illegal trade of drugs, narcotics and was supplying these banned materials to the youth.
“Taking view of his illegal acts, a team of police headed by Deputy SP Headquarter Rajouri Mudassir Hussain along with SHO Rajouri Mohammad Showket and other officials of the Police Station conducted a raid at the suspected location in presence of the Executive Magistrate,” the statement said.
Police said that raid was conducted in evening hours of Tuesday during which the notorious peddler namely Basid Ali, son of Barkat Ali, resident of Nadian Darhal, at present Kheora (Rajouri) was arrested.
“During search, 10 grams of heroin like substance, 48 banned injections (Diazepam), one electronic weighing machine, one roll of aluminium foil, three mobile phones, two ATM cards and a cash of Rs 54,220 was also recovered,” police disclosed. A case under FIR Number 204/2023 U/S 8/21/22/27-A NDPS Act stands registered in this connection at Police Station Rajouri.
