The protesting retired officers said that the authorities had assured them that Seventh Pay Commission will be implemented, their grievances will be addressed but nothing has been done yet. “We met many ministers in past, including Finance Minister and Chief Minister and they promised us that they will address our grievances before Seventh Pay Commission. We have assembled here today to remind them of their promise,” they said
The protesters demanded that the effect to Government Order No 229 -F of 2014 regarding pay anomalies be given from the year 1996 when the Fifth Pay Commission was implemented throughout the State. “Government Order number 229-F of 2014, is not meaningful for us as this grievance is from 1996 when Fifth Pay Commission was implemented and should be rectified from the said year, ” they added.
