JAMMU, Feb 21: All J&K Retired Police Personnel Forum demanded education facility to their children including jobs and recruitment.
Addressing a press conference, president of the forum Ajit Singh said that then Principal Secretary Finance Department and now Chief Secretary Iqbal Khandey has granted approval for removal of pay anomalies in Police Department and submitted the file to Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather.
He added that the file is lying pending for the past two years and no action has been taken despite repeated requests of police personnel.
Singh further stated that a deputation of the forum also met Qamar Ali Akhoon, Advisor to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and apprised him about the issues.
Besides education facility, he also demanded health facilities, free of cost tests of retired police personnel and provision of ambulance in case of emergency.
He also demanded dispensaries across the State with free of cost medicines, Rs 50,000 for marriage of daughters of retired police personnel and cremation of retired police personnel with full honour and respect at par with Army.
