JAMMU, Jan 15: All J&K Retired Police Personnel and ORS Forum have reiterated the demand that Government Order No 229-F of 2014 be given the effect from 1996.
In a statement issued here today the Forum said the said order is not acceptable to it as its effect is given from prospective date i.e from the date of order.
Highlighting the other demands, the Forum stressed on enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 as per the 6th Pay Commission, free of cost medicines and treatment be provided to the retired police personnel from the police hospital, reimbursement of medical bills for police retirees, cashless health care policy be provided to the retirees on the pattern of other paramilitary forces, 15 percent quota be reserved for the police personnel in recruitment in Police Department.
The Forum also demanded that Rs 50,000 be sanctioned at the time of marriage of daughters and sons of the retired police personnel as a financial help out of welfare fund, Rs 50,000 be sanctioned at the time of death of retired police personnel for performing the last rites of the deceased, the retired police personnel be provided guard of honour after their death during cremation, one rank one pension rule be also followed by State Government, timely promotions be given to police personnel, SPOs should be exempted from running for their regularization in police and providing of welfare facility is available for NGOs either in Jammu or Srinagar.
