SAMBA, Aug 20: All J&K Retired Police Personnel Forum held a demonstration at Vijaypur today against the discrimination faced by them through the hands of Police Department and State Government which over the years has failed to solve the pay anomaly problem.
The protest was held in front of BDO Block, Vijaypur which was led by district president of the Forum, Raghubir Singh.
They while raising slogans in support of their demands. They demanded discrimination with J&K retired police personnel in pay anomaly vide Government Order No. 229-F 201.4, dated 17-10-2014 be removed immediately. The effect of Fifth Pay Commission has been given prospectively which means from the date of order whereas the effect should have been given from the year 1996 when 5th Pay Commission was implemented thought the State but only the Police Department was left behind. The protestors said some of the police personnel have even expired and those surviving are strugglers to get the benefit.
They further demanded that in requirement “of Police Department and professional courses 15% quota should be reserved for the police personal.
They demanded at least 50,000 should be sanctioned at the death of a police personal serving or retired for performing the last rites of the deceased.
The members who were present in the protest including district president, Raghubir Singh, vice president, Kaniail Singh , Ashok Kumar, spokesman, Mohinder Singh, Jagdish Singh, Jagdish Raj, Shingo Ram, Gushu Ram, Tara Chand, Balkrishan, Parshotam Singh, Jamal Chand, Sandeep Singh, Karan Raj, Sudarshan Singh, Bachan Singh, Jasbir Singh, Gardhari Lal, Jagdish Singh, Balwant Singh, Uttam Singh, Tarsem Verma, Sunitam Singh and other members of Forums.
