Retirees accorded warm farewell

JAMMU, July 31: A teacher and several other officers and officials were on Monday accorded farewell on their retirement from different Departments.
A statement said that Dr Anjana Gupta, Head of the Department (HoD), Chemistry, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar, was accorded an emotional farewell by the college staff and students on her superannuation today.
Dr Gupta has rendered more than five decades in teaching as a diligent worker and contributed in the holistic growth of the students in person and institution in general.
Besides Principal of the College, Prof Minu Mahajan, the staff and students wished a happy, healthy and contended post-retirement life to Dr Anjana Gupta.
Deputy General Manager, Technical Services, Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Mushtaq Ahmad, was also accorded a warm farewell today. He rendered 42 long years of service to SKICC and played a vital role in developing the MIS of SKICC which is laced with high tech equipments for holding any kind of high level event there.
Two Sub-Inspectors of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Chaman Lal and Inderjeet Singh, also attained superannuation in Samba District today, where a programme was held to honour them for the services they have rendered to the Police Department.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, presented the retiring officers with a gift of Rs 1 lakh each in the presence of senior police officers, relatives, friends, and family members of the officers.
Another employee, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, retired as Accountant from ZEO Office Ghagwal today after 39 years of unblemished services.
Darshana Badgal, ZEO Ghagwal, chaired the farewell function, where staff and Association members, described the retiring official as highly upright and honest.
Sharma has rendered his services in various Departments, including Kathua Treasury, Forest, Education, PDD, and other departments.
Sheikh Showket Ahmed, Accounts Assistant, retired from Civil Secretariat Treasury.
A simple but impressive function was organised to bid farewell to the retiring official by the officers and officials of the Treasury, who highlighted various instances of the official during his exemplary service career spanning more than 31 years.
