Retirees Police League raises issues

JAMMU, July 7: Retirees Police League District Jammu today organised its monthly meeting under the chairmanship of Karanjit Singh, president of the League for District Jammu.
The meeting started by observing a two minutes silence to pay homage to the departed soul of Ram Singh Jamwal, who died recently due to illness.
Many important issues concerning welfare of retired cops were discussed and these included overall welfare of retired cops suffering from deadly diseases.
A retired SI, S. Jagmohan Singh of Slama Chak, R.S Pura, who is confined to bed due to cancer which is not covered under Ayushman scheme was contacted on phone and a team of the League will soon visit to provide him immediate contributory financial help.
The SDPO and SHOs concerned may be requested to contact such needy persons.
Another important issue raised in the meeting was removal of seniority discrepancies among same ranks. All participants requested District Headquarters Chief SSP Jammu to hold retirees meeting which has not been done since long.
Among others who were present in the meeting were SSPs (retd)-Ranjit Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Makhan Lal Sharma; SPs-S.R Datta, D.D Sharma; DSPs-Kamal Sharma, Ch Vijay Kumar, Kuldip Raj, Parshotam Bali, H.S Gill, Khalil-ur-Rahman, Mohinder Singh, Yoginder Singh, Ajay Punjabi; retired Inspectors Dhian Singh, Ved Raj Bali, Satpal and ASI Ashok Kumar.
