Retirement age

Sir,
The Govt move to direct the Chief Secretary and GAD Secretary to work out details for increasing the retirement age of Govt employees by one or two years is like pouring salt on the wounds of unemployed youth. The  unemployed youth were already up in arms against the Govt for new recruitment policy under which they had been virtually rendered as daily wagers for first five years. In our State where the rate of unemployment has crossed the alarming figures, this step of the Govt is obviously a great setback to them. The industrial sector which is minimal in our State and proved a failure to absorb maximum of youth did not receive focused attention from State as well as from Centre Govt. The protest and dharna by various employees for enhancing the retirement age tantamounts to injustice with their own children. The sufferings and miseries of unemployed youth need no semantics. This move of the Govt to appoint a committee in this election year is solely for vote bank politics. The Govt wants to draw the youth in dark only for their political considerations. Rather the Govt should pass a bill that each Govt employee should serve the Govt for the total period of 30 years. If one gets Govt job at the age of 25 years, he has to retire at the age of 55 years and if one gets Govt job at the age of 30 years he has to retire at the age of 60 years.
Yours etc…..
