Retirement ordeal

Sir,
It is  said that  in the  central Govt. Service  sector, all the  retirement  benefits including the PPO are  kept in the  hands  of the  reitree on the  very day  of his retirement and consequently he feels honoured and elevated  whereas  in the J &K State Govt. service sector, when it is  not done, how can he  feel  honoured and  elevated rather  he feels  rejected, humiliated and  unwanted  by the atmosphere  created around  him.He feels as if  he has  committed  a great  sin  by  serving  the  society as  a Government Servant.
Such a   wrong mentality  towards  reitrees community needs  to be corrected as they are  the  embodiments  of  huge  experience and  knowledge  and  instead of  declaring  them the  used bullets, their  expertise can be used  for  the  betterment  of the  society by the Government.
If  the  prevailing situation  is not  countered by the  society and the Government, attitude  of the people  around the retire will continue harming him  psychologically and  which will lead  him towards many diseases  and  most of them  will remain dying  after  2 or 3  years of  their  retirement.
It is,therefore, urged upon the  state Government  that  it should  own the  responsibility  for  honourably retiring  its  employees by  taking  the  followwing steps:-
All the  record regarding his  pension/GPF/Cash-in-lieu/other benefits be maitained  by  the  conrened  controlling officers and his NDC for retirement  also be arranged  by the  controlling  officers. An Advisory/Check list and  procedure for  retirement  be  provided to the concerned officers.
It should be  made  mandatory  for  one of the highest  authorities to attend  his retirement party and  say  politely Good Bye to him.
Yours etc.
