JAMMU, May 1: Reports continue to pour in about the functions having been held for bidding farewell to all those employees who retired on attaining superannuation in their respective offices yesterday.
Ashok Singh Sambyal, Deputy Director Horticulture (Planning & Marketing) was given a warm send off on his superannuation after serving the department for 35 years.
A grand farewel was organised at Jammu Club where officers from all districts participated. Speaking on the occasion. J P Sharma. who succeeds him as Dy Director, highlighted his excellent tenure served in various capacities and his contribution to the department.
Mr Sambyal thanked his collegues for all the support they gave while he was serving as Dy Director Jammu. Digvijay AMO and AO CK Kachroo were others who attended the function
Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association accorded farewell to Ram Lal Bhagat, Head Assistant who attained age of superannuation yesterday. Association president R L Kaith appreciated the dedication and honesty of the retiree. Prominent among those who participated in the function included Asstt Prof Tirath Ram, Surinder Kumar Shavgotra, Surjeet Singh Heer, Om Parkash, Des Raj Nandan, Mohan Lal, etc.
The staff of Cooperative Societies Udhampur accorded warm send of to Chander Kanta, Senior Assistant on her superannuation in the District Audit Office, Cooperative Societies. All wished her a happy and healthy post retirement life.
Staff of 137 CRPF Udhampur accorded affectionate farewell to Deputy Commandant,Nirmal Singh on his superannuation at a simple but impressive function yesterday evening. Commandant Mukesh Kumar was the chief guest who wished Nirmal Singh a happy and prosperous post retirement life.
Dr Gurjit Singh, Prof and Head of Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Surgery (CVTS) Department, GMC was given a warm and affectionate send off on attaining superannuation. An impressive farewell function was organised in his honour by the Departments of Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac Anaesthesia and Cardiology and was attended by the members of various departments and officials from GMC Administration. Dr Arvind Kohli, Lecturer CTVS highlighted the achievements of Dr Gurjit Singh over the last more than three decades especially in starting the Cardio-thoracic department as well as Open Heart Surgery in this institution. Dr Sushil Sharma, (HoD Cardiology), Dr Puja Vimesh (HoD Cardiac Anesthesia) and Dr SK Bali (HoD Nephrology) appreciated his ability to take all his team members along.
