JAMMU, Nov 23: Mahant Datt Giri Maharaj has been elected unanimously as President of Jammu and Kashmir Shat Darshan Sadhu Samaj Samiti (JKSDSSS) after the death of previous Samiti President.
He urged upon the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to retrieve the precious temple lands from the clutches of social anti elements and land mafias active across the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory since 1980-90.
Mahant Datt Giri Maharaj alongwith other Samiti members while addressing the press conference here today alleged that most of the temple lands are under the occupation of so called social anti elements and land mafia active in the Jammu and Kashmir since turmoil in Kashmir valley.
He appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to personally intervene in the serious issue so that the precious Hindu religious properties belongs to Hindu community should be retrieve from the clutches of land mafia across the Jammu and Kashmir.
He further urged upon the LG to renovate the temples which were damaged by the social anti elements in Kashmir valley since turmoil in Jammu and Kashmir as this initiative had already been taken by the Home Ministry few months ago.
Mahant Datt Giri Maharaj also said that SDSSS is desired to take entire arrangements of upcoming traditional Shri Amarnath Yatra-2021 and committed to fulfill the entire arrangements pertaining to Langer and other concerned facilities for Sadhus and devotees during the upcoming Shri Amarnath pilgrimage via Pahalgam and Baltal base campus in Kashmir valley.
He also requested the UT administration to provide proper accommodations and security arrangements for SDSSS members before commencing of upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra keeping in view of smooth and hassle free functioning of pilgrimage in Kashmir valley.
Sangathan Mantri Mahant Rajesh Giri, Mahant Yogeshwar Nath, Mahant Ram Janam Dass Shastri, Mahant Mahadev Giri, Mahant Krishan Bharti, Mahant Soham Giri and many others were present on occasion.
