Return of KPs high on NC agenda: Gupta

JAMMU, Apr 13: A day long convention of National Conference (NC) Minority Cell was held here today under the chairmanship of NC provincial president Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta.
The convention was organized by Jatin Bhat. Addressing the convention Gupta said that issues confronting displaced KPs needs to be addressed on priority.
He exhorted the Central Government to chalk out a time bound roadmap for their safe, honourable and dignified return to Kashmir.
Gupta described the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) as a blot on glorious ethos of J&K which is known across the world for its inclusiveness and harmonious co-existence.
He talked about the measures taken by NC during its various spells of governance for addressing the concerns and issues of the displaced community.
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, provincial secretary Jammu said that unemployment has caused a sense of despair among migrant youth.
NC minority wing functionary Jatin Bhat demanded construction of additional 5000 flats for KPs across Jammu.
Babu Ram Pal, president Central Zone Jammu; Vijay Lochan, SC Cell provincial president; Vijay Laxami Dutta, senior NC leader; Vijay Koul and others were also present on the occasion.
